Conservation advice and
Entry Level Scheme writing service

Conservation Advisory Service and Environmental Stewardship

We entered the farm into Defra’s Entry Level Scheme (ELS) in 2006 in which we undertake a number of measures to protect the environment such as minimising inputs to certain fields, protecting in field trees, creating buffer strips along ditches and woodland edges, and altering the hedge trimming regime.

I have worked in the field of conservation for over 8 years now, having started my career as a Farm and Rivers advisor for the Westcountry Rivers Trust and gone on to manage a team of officers working on the Cornwall Rivers Project before leaving to develop the farm business. I also worked for the Environment Agency for a year and part time for the Derek Gow Consultancy to help conserve water voles. I hold a BSc, MSc and am FACTS accredited.

This background, together with having written a number of Stewardship applications for the farm, friends and during my employment, has given us a good understanding of defra’s aims in developing the Environmental Stewardship schemes. We therefore offer an ELS application writing service with a 100% success rate and also run training courses in completing one’s own ELS application; these are offered through the Devon Association of Smallholders training program. For booking information please telephone or email us or contact DASH.
